EgoPo is now accepting audition videos for our 2025-26 American Voices season.
EgoPo will be casting 57 roles this season across 4 readings, a mainstage and an immersive dinner theater experience! Below is the breakdown of shows, schedules and more. We ask that you submit a video audition of no more than 2 minutes. Preference is for two short monologues: one contemporary monologue and one neo-classical monologue (verse text or prose accepted. Preference for text from approx 1700s-1800s). Please submit using the form linked here or at the bottom of the page.
Mainstages
Mainstage rates for actors are a range of $250/wk-$300/wk with limited AEA Special Appearance Tier II roles available per show.
Waiting For Lefty

This immersive staging of Odet’s Iconic piece about strikes and collective action in the 1930s will place the audience on the side of Harry Fatt as they feast on a premier Italian Banquet. The actors will engage and interact with the audience throughout the show creating a visceral and convicting experience. Just performing three nights in the banquet space of Popi’s restaurant, the show is likely to feature physically demanding repetitive tasks that may include continuous walking, running, biking, and serving drinks to the audience.

Roles Available:
HARRY FATT: White Late 40s-60s Cis Male. Well fed and confident. Head of the Union. Charismatic and threatening.
IRV/GUNMAN: White Mid 20s male presenting. Irv is Florrie’s overbearing older brother. Pragmatic and tired. Gunman is a thug.
JOE: Any Ethnicity Mid-late 20s Male Presenting. Taxi driver down on his luck. Not making the money needed to support his family. Defensive, and unsure what to do with himself.
EDNA: Any Ethnicity. Mid-late 20s Female presenting. Strong willed and confident, she is at her breaking point.
MILLER: White 20s-30s. Male Presenting Self assured and principled. He is not afraid to face the consequences of holding out his beliefs. He is unwilling to yield and will aggressively defend his beliefs.
FAYETTE/CLAYTON: White 30s-40s. Male Presenting. Fayette has a facade that hides his bigotry and lack of respect for others. He is manipulative, seditious and lacks moral qualms in the way that he treats others. Clayton is a union Spy, sheep in wolf's clothing. Experienced at espionage and masquerading as a hardworking union man.
FLORRIE: Any Ethnicity. Early 20s female presenting. Irv’s younger sister, passionate, engaged with Sid. Doesn’t want to have to choose between money or love.
SID: Any Ethnicity Early 20s, Male presenting, young, trying to make a life for himself, engaged to Florrie. Exhausted from working hard and getting nowhere. Recently hit a truck on the job and is feeling really low. .
DR. BARNES: White 50s-70s Male presenting. Distinguished doctor, angry at the injustices in the world. Working to change things from within the system but unable to make changes. He wishes he could fight, but doesn’t have the health for it.
DR BENJAMIN: Jewish 30s. male Presentation. Good, hardworking doctor.principled and caring.

Set in the backyard of a blue-collar neighborhood in South Philadelphia early in the summer of 1973, the comedy-drama focuses on the 21st birthday celebration of Harvard student Francis Geminiani. In attendance are his divorced father Fran and Fran's widowed girlfriend Lucille, next-door neighbor Bunny Weinberger and her overweight son Herschel, and Francis' classmates, the wealthy wasp Hastings siblings; Judith (who seeks romance with Francis) and Randy (the object of Francis' unexpressed affection), who have arrived unexpectedly, much to their friend's dismay. All are dysfunctional to varying degrees, and the interactions among them provide the play with its comic and dramatic moments.

Open to all races, ethnicities, genders, and disabilities. There are a number of intimate moments throughout the show, including but not limited to embracing, kissing, and groping, that will be addressed by an intimacy director during rehearsal.
Fran Geminiani - 45. Working class Italian-American single father of Francis. Boisterous and friendly. Thick South Philly accent. Thicker build/beer belly. Coughs a lot from mild emphysema.
Francis Geminiani - About to celebrate his 21st birthday. Thicker build, a little clumsy. Entering his senior year at Harvard. In the process of figuring out his sexuality.
Lucille Pompi - 40s. Working class Italian-American woman. South Philly accent. Fran’s lady friend, very thin. Strives hard to act in accordance with her ideas of ladylike behavior and elegance.
Bunny Weinberger - Cast.
Herschel Weinberger - 16. Bunny’s son. Heavyset, asthmatic, very bright, but eccentric. Obsessed with public transportation in all its manifestations. Shy and socially awkward.
Judith Hastings - A month or two younger than Francis, her classmate at Harvard. Attractive WASP, very intelligent, a bit aggressive but well-meaning.
Randy Hastings - Judith’s brother, just finishing his first year at Harvard. Quintessentially handsome WASP.

Prince of Parthia

"The Prince of Parthia: A Tragedy" by Thomas Godfrey is a five-act play set in the Parthian Empire. The story revolves around Arsaces, a noble prince, and his family, including his ambitious mother Queen Thermusa and his envious brother Vardanes. The play explores themes of ambition, betrayal, love, and loyalty, culminating in a tragic downfall as Arsaces becomes entangled in court intrigues and political machinations. Casting 11 roles, Open to all races, ethnicities, genders, and disabilities. Some actors will play multiple roles. Will determine exact character breakdowns at time of casting.
The Gladiator

Show Off

The Show Off of the title is Aubrey Piper, an egotistical braggart and his farcical attempts to retain some dignity amidst the barrage of his own self-aggrandizing hyperbole. A richly comic portrait of a common frailty in the American character. Casting 3 female presenting roles, 6 male presenting roles

What To Prepare:
A current headshot and resume in PDF format.
Self-taped audition up to 90 seconds. Can be made up of 1 or 2 monologues of your choice, but at least one monologue should be Neoclassical (Verse or prose piece somewhere between 1700s-1800s)
Please Note: Videos should be submitted as either a YouTube link or a Google Drive link BUT be sure that sharing permissions are set to “anyone with the link” as to ensure easy access. There are no specific requirements for framing, backdrops, or slating.
EgoPo will be offering limited AEA Special Appearance Tier 2 contracts throughout the season so both Equity and Non-Equity actors are encouraged to submit for the season.
