2018-2019
Democratic elections in 1994 marked the end of Apartheid, a decades-long system of institutional racial segregation and repression in South Africa. It took heroic resistance from inside the country, as well as advocacy and boycotts worldwide, to change a system designed to benefit just 14% of the population. EgoPo honors this remarkable transformation with a presentation of some of South Africa's greatest works, as well as a presentation of Cape Town's Abrahamse and Meyer Productions.

Eugene O’Neill’s Desire Under the Elms
EgoPo hosted Cape Town, South Africa’s own Abrahamse & Meyer Productions to present their original take on Eugene O’Neill’s Desire Under the Elms, resetting the play in Africa.
This production was staged at Drexel University, and was directed by co-founder Fred Abrahamse and starred co-founder Marcel Meyer.
Samuel Beckett’s Company
EgoPo revived their fan favorite sensory staging of Samuel Beckett’s prose piece Company.
Restaged in collaboration with Rowan University Department of Theatre & Dance, this production was presented at the Philly Fringe before touring to the Provincetown Tennessee Williams Theater Festival.
Company will be revived again in the upcoming 2026-2027 Immersions season.
