The Golem

a world premiere ensemble creation

March 2012

Prince Music Theater

A world premiere inspired by stories, myths, and plays around the legendary Golem.

A world premiere piece built by EgoPo's ensemble led by director Brenna Geffers, EgoPo's The Golem followed a diverse group of Jews in 1940 on a train from Prague to Poland as they use storytelling to conjure the monster and protector that perhaps lives in each of them. This stunning production incorporated live Klezmer music and custom-made Czech influenced marionettes. Occurring over Passover, The Golem included full interactive Seders for our audience before seeing the show.
